A cidade surpreende-nos pela grandiosidade e sumptuosidade dos seus arranha céus e das vistas que proporcionam. Também nos deixa maravilhados pela sua gastronomia, pela simpatia das pessoas, pela multiplicidade de culturas e religiões (muçulmanos, budistas, hindus e outros com menor expressão) e principalmente pelo nível de vida acessível.

The city surprises us by the majesty and sumptuousness of its skyscrapers and their views. It also amazes us with its gastronomy, the sympathy of the people, the multiplicity of cultures and religions (muslims, buddhists, hindus and others with less expression) and especially the level of accessible life.
Chegámos a esta frenética cidade pelas 10 horas da manhã no passado dia 8 de Maio, e mesmo depois de cerca de 26 horas de viagem para o outro lado do mundo, fomos ao hotel refrescar-nos e seguimos logo para aproveitar o dia! Tínhamos apenas 2 dias completos para conhecer Kuala Lumpur.
Fomos de imediato às Batu Caves, que são uma série de templos construídos numa colina de pedra calcária e cavernas, a cerca de 20 minutos de carro de KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center). Este local é considerado um dos santuários hindus mais populares fora da Índia e é dedicado ao Senhor Murugan (Deus da Guerra). Subimos 272 degraus para chegar ao topo, mas faz-se bem. O problema é que são degraus muito estreitos e estavam 30º graus celsius, com 86% de humidade...
We arrived in this hectic city at 10am on the past 8th of May and even after about 26 hours of travel to the other side of the world, we went to the hotel to freshen up and followed soon to enjoy the day! We only had 2 full days to discover Kuala Lumpur.
We went directly to the Batu Caves, a series of temples built on a limestone hill and caves, about 20 minutes drive from KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center). This place is considered one of the most popular hindu shrines outside India and is dedicated to Lord Murugan (God of War). We climbed 272 steps to get to the top, but it 's ok. The problem is that the steps are very narrow and there were 30 degrees celsius, with 86% humidity...
Depois de um dia em cheio, voltámos ao nosso Hotel The Face Suites Platinum.
E deixem-me dizer-vos que ficámos simplesmente num dos melhores e mais acessíveis hotéis de KLCC! Trata-se de apartamentos de luxo, espaçosos e muito bem decorados, staff super atencioso, um restaurante fabuloso no topo do edifício e uma magnífica piscina infinita no 51º andar, com uma vista deslumbrante para as Torres Petronas e Menara... MARAVILHOSO! Foi aqui, neste preciso local que Mister O me pediu em casamento e eu aceitei, claro!
After a full day, we returned to our Hotel The Face Suites Platinum. And let me tell you that we were simply in one of the best and most affordable hotels in KLCC! These are luxury apartments, spacious and beautifully decorated, with super attentive staff, a fabulous restaurant at the top of the building and a magnificent infinity sky pool on the 51st floor with a breathtaking view of the Petronas Towers and Menara ... WONDERFUL! It was here, at this precise place, that Mr. O asked me to marry him and I accepted, of course!

Depois voltámos ao centro de KL e a nossa incursão pelo Bairro Chinês foi uma verdadeira aventura!!! Imaginem uma rua inteira cheia de bancas com tudo e mais alguma coisa, coberta por um céu de candeeiros chineses e ruelas com restaurantes baratíssimos! Imaginem que comemos por 1€ (cada um). Comida deliciosa para quem quer experimentar a outra faceta da elegante cidade.
Then we returned to the center of KL and our incursion into Chinatown was a real adventure!!! Imagine a whole street full of stalls with everything and anything else, covered by a sky of Chinese lamps and alleyways with cheap restaurants! Imagine that we ate for 1€ (each). Delicious food for those who want to experience the other part of the elegant city.
